Fun Party Games – Free Games and Board Games

It is amazing that finding fun party games can be so difficult. There are so many choices out there and too many questions. What fun party games will be entertaining for my family or friends? What should I keep in mind when picking a game for us to play? If I buy some fun party games will they be fun to play more than once? These are just a few questions we hope will be answered in this review of some of our favorite fun party games. This particular review is of free games you can play with just things you have handy around the house, as well as a few board games that are worth buying. Let’s start with one on our favorite fun party games:

Fun Party Games #1

Fun Party GamesFun Party GamesPartini – If fun party games are what you’re looking for in a board game, then Partini is it. Just by the title, you can already tell it’s a party game. The game is made up of six individual party games from miming, humming, molding clay, guessing games, finding out how well you know your team mates, and action games.  I spent many laughs playing “shooters,” where you have to go against your team mate to bounce little balls into plastic cups from a distance. This is one of the fun party games that is made mostly for adults, but can also be tame enough to play with families as well. Be prepared for an entertaining evening of laughs, silliness, and a good time with friends, as you play one of the most variety-packed fun party games.

Fun Party Games #2

Charades  – One of the most classic free fun party games full of laughter. The object of the game is to try to guess who or what your fellow player is trying to portray. To play this fun party game, divide players into teams of three or more. Give each person several slips of paper and tell them to write a word or phrase for the other team to guess on each slip. Put all the suggestions in a hat or box. Choose a team, who then chooses an actor to go first. The actor picks a slip out of the suggestion box and acts out the word or phrase without talking. If the team fails to correctly guess the word or phrase within the time limit, that team doesn’t get any points for the round and play continues to the next team. These fun party games end when each player has had a turn as actor. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins one of the most classic fun party games.

Fun Party Games #3

Fun Party GamesLast Word – This is one of the fun party games that can be played over and over again. Last word is one of the fun party games that’s easy to play, and I have even had large groups of 15 people playing this before. The game is played by first drawing a category card, such as, “fruits” and then drawing a letter card like “C.” Then a timer, that goes off at different intervals, is started. Players then yell out subjects that start with the letter card, in this case “coconuts, cantaloupe, etc.” The player who says the last word wins the round. One of my favorite fun party games worth buying.

Fun Party Games #4

Two Truths and a Lie – This is one of those fun party games that is great to play at a dinner party.   These fun party games are played by having everyone tell two crazy truths and one lie about themselves. All other players then guess which one they think is the lie by voting. This is another one of those fun party games that’s easy to play and requires no setup.

Fun Party Games # 5

Spoons –This is one of the fun party games that will involve a lot of activity, so it’s great for kids. Start by sitting in a circle and put one less number of spoons as players in the center. Deal four cards to each player and then pick up one extra card off the discard pile. Decide if you want to keep it or pass it to the player to the left who then decides if he wants to keep it or pass it on, and so on. The object of these fun party games is to get four of a kind, and once you do so, you don’t have to tell anyone right away. As soon as no one is looking, grab one of the spoons. The rest of the players have to grab spoons as well, and whoever is left without a spoon is out of the game. This is one of the fun party games that you can also make more extreme by putting the spoons in another room.

Fun Party Games #6

Funny Stories – This is one of the fun party games that is for small groups of people who think nonsense is hilarious. Start by having each player write down on a piece of paper a sentence to start a story. (Example: “Once upon a time there was a handsome prince named Monique.”) Then pass each piece of paper to the person to the left and have them write a sentence to add to the story, and so on. The laughter from these fun party games begin when each person reads their stories out loud and if the group is imaginative enough, the stories can turn out very funny. This is another one of the fun party games that will liven up a bored group.

Fun Party Games – Board Games

It is amazing that finding fun party games can be so difficult. There are so many choices out there and too many questions. What fun party games will be entertaining for my family or friends? What should I keep in mind when picking a game for us to play? If I buy some fun party games will they be fun to play more than once? These are just a few questions we hope answer about some fun party games. Let’s start by reviewing a few fun party games.

Fun Party Games #1

Fun Party GamesFun Party GamesCurses – One of the fun party games available for groups of many sizes. This game is sort of like charades and gives you a chance to pick on your friends. The turns are fast paced to keep the party moving and entertaining. To start the fun party games, you first draw a challenge card, which will give you an action to perform. After you perform your action, you draw a curse card which is given to other players to force them to continually perform certain actions, such as talking in an Irish accent for the rest of the game. If another player notices that you are not performing your action, you “break the curse” and turn it face down in front of you. When you break three curses, you are eliminated from the game. However, you still can pick on other players even though you are out of the game. The last player to have a curse card left wins the game. This is one of the fun party games that always ends with everyone enjoying a great deal of laughter.

Fun Party Games #2

Fun Party GamesQuelf – If you’re looking for fun party games that will make you laugh so hard you will have tears shooting from your eyes, then look no further. These fun party games are for groups of a smaller size and is great fun for family night. In one of these fun party games, you will be answering hilarious trivia, performing silly stunts, and obeying insane rules. As you move around the game board, as one of eight crazy characters, weird things start to happen. Your friends start talking with accents. One friend has lost the ability to use his hands, your dad is rearranging the furniture, and you are reciting a poem to the person next to you as a Baptist preacher while their elbows are glued to the game board. These fun party games are so random, play will never be the same twice. Players don’t get eliminated so everyone plays as long as the game goes. If you have a group not embarrassed by play acting, this is a must have. These fun party games are turn based and some of the turns can take a while, which is why I say it is for smaller groups. This is one of the best fun party games you will play over and over again.

Fun Party Games #3

Fun Party Games
Things – This is one of the fun party games that can be played with larger groups. The object of the game is for everyone to write a response to a particular subject, such as, “Things you shouldn’t ask your doctor.” The players then guess which player wrote each response. The round continues until one player and one response is left. The game continues until each player has read a question. The responses people submit prove to be very funny, for example, an answer to the previous question about the doctor could be: “Should there be 3 of those?” or “how big are your hands?” This is one of the fun party games that is easy to play and doesn’t require a lot of setup.

Fun Party Games #4

Fun Party Games
Cranium – This is one of the most recognizable fun party games. This is one of the fun party games that is a conglomeration of many other fun party games, including: Charades, trivia, drawing, spelling, and creativity. These fun party games are played by completing tasks on cards successfully and then rolling the dice to advance. Teams are not eliminated, so everyone can enjoy gameplay until the end of the game. The fun to be had for families or friends is the edge of your seat, tip of your tongue, timed turns, filled with laughter. This is one of the fun party games that will take up a whole evening as it is not the quickest of fun party games to play.

Fun Party Games #5

Fun Party Games
Murder Mystery Dinner Party – These fun party games are for groups of many sizes. The size of the party might be limited by the game you choose, most range from 6 to 8. If you’re in the mood for intrigue, and a bit of play acting, this can be great fun. The gathering will follow a theme and in the course of the evening everyone gets to play detective. These fun party games provide a bit of structure to the evening and the who-done-it could be a very welcome break from the usual routine of gathering together just to watch movies. The themes also vary quite a bit, whether you want something from a specific era or a setting, the fun of trying to be the first to figure out the mystery is exciting. If you get to be the murderer the fun of casting suspicion on others or even doubt of your guilt is yours to be had. The unfortunate thing of these fun party games is that once a group has played it they know the mystery, which makes repeated play not very likely unless you will be inviting a new group over. The setup will take a little more time than other fun party games in that you’ll want to give your friends time to get to know their characters and get costumes if applicable. The memories of these fun party games easily outweigh the cost, and at the end of the evening all will have had a great time and remember your party as one of the best ever.
